Hunting gadgets you might find useful

Every year it seems like there are even more “must have” hunting gadgets showing up on the market. Each one basically promises to make every trip a success, and can leave you feeling like the only reason you’re not bagging a ten point buck is because you don’t own a certain gadget. Don’t feel embarrassed if your shed or garage is packed with a variety of these gadgets, mine certainly used to be. Then I decided to start tossing out the ones that were an unfortunate waste of money and only keep the gadgets that actually work. Here are a few of the hunting gadgets that I find useful, and maybe you will too. If nothing else this is the perfect opportunity to clean out your storage area so you are ready for the start of the season.

I absolutely love everything about this gadget, including its affordable price. It is a handheld thermal imaging device that fits easily in your jacket pocket or backpack. If you’ve ever hunted at night you know you difficult it is to see, and this problem can even occur when you are trying to see if any game is hiding in thick brush. It comes with a long lasting 5 hour battery and a memory that is capable of storing up to 1,000 JPEG images. It will allow you to view thermal images at distances further than 100 yards, and thanks to the expanded color palette images are crisp and clear.

Leatherman Skeletool RX

I always carry my Leatherman with me, even when I’m not hunting, and I’ve traded my old one in for this new and improved model. It is still lightweight and extremely convenient to carry, and it comes with just about everything you’ll need to survive outdoors. It comes with several removeable bits so you can easily tighten or loosen screws and other types of fasteners. The carbide glass breaker is also a convenient tool to have. What I really like is the sheepsfoot blade that allows me to cut line, clothing and almost anything else in between. It even comes with a pair of pliers, which I find myself using on almost every hunting trip.

Hunters Specialties Rack-It Rattling Tines

Thanks to this convenient gadget I never have to worry about how I’m going to carry a set of antlers home. This pair of flat tines easily snap together when you are ready to transport your prize back home. They are constructed from durable plastic so they are sturdy enough to handle large racks, and their lightweight design makes them easy to carry. These rattling tines also
